Short Description:

Overspeed Governor is one of the safety control components in the elevator safety protection system. It monitors and controls the speed of the cabin at any time. When the elevator is running for any reason, the cabin is overspeeding or even in danger of falling, and all other safety protection devices do not work, Overspeed Governor and Safety Gear act in linkage to stop the elevator cabin. In order to avoid casualties and equipment damage accidents.

Start condition:

1) When the car speed exceeds 115% of the rated speed

2) For momentary type safety gear, speed of 0.80 m/s (except roller type).

3) For roller type momentary safety gear, the speed is 1.0 m/s.

4) For safety gear with cushioning effect, and for progressive safety gear for rated speeds not exceeding 1.0 m/s, a speed of 1.5 m/s.

5) For progressive safety gear for rated speeds exceeding 1.0 m/s, a speed of 1.25*v+0.25/v.
